Airport

Heliport

A gateway to Guangdong province, this airport features direct metro access to Guangzhou.

This airport is very nice. Seems brand new! It's very quick and efficient. Even with the many screenings it seemed I had about 3 once I landed. But good to be thorough. They have good lounges you can access with priority pass and they have a Starbucks. Very friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms are very clean. Thank you!

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is a massive and modern facility, impressively designed with sleek architecture and state-of-the-art amenities. However, the airport’s sheer size can be daunting, especially for elderly travelers or those with young children. Navigating through the vast terminals can be a challenge, and this is something travelers should be prepared for.For those transiting through Guangzhou on their way to another destination, it is crucial to allow ample time between flights. I recommend booking flights with at least a 2 to 3-hour layover. This is particularly important because China Southern Airlines, the main carrier at this airport, is notorious for frequent delays. Even though these delays are somewhat expected, the lack of effective communication between the airline and the airport staff can add unnecessary stress for travelers trying to make their connecting flights. In our case, we had a 1.5-hour layover, but our inbound flight was delayed by 30 minutes. The situation quickly descended into chaos as passengers scrambled to make their connections. Moreover, the transit process at Baiyun Airport is cumbersome and inefficient. Despite not leaving the terminal, transit passengers are required to pass through multiple checkpoints, including a quarantine inspection, airline counter for ticket verification, security screening, and finally, immigration control. These layers of security checks, combined with long queues, create a stressful experience, particularly for those with tight connections. On a positive note, I did notice an improvement in the attitude and helpfulness of the airport staff compared to previous visits. Both ground staff and immigration officers were noticeably more friendly and eager to assist, which was a welcome change. For travelers planning a layover, it is essential to be prepared. I suggest filling out your Arrival Card while still on the plane to save time during the quarantine inspection. Keep items like lighters, liquids, and batteries easily accessible, as these will need to be removed during security screening. On our return, we had a day to spare and decided to explore Guangzhou. The airport offers a convenient visa-on-arrival service for transiting passengers, which allows up to 72 hours of stay. The process was straightforward but requires some preparation. After disembarking, follow the signs for transit, but instead, head to the visa-on-arrival counter. Before approaching the counter, make sure to fill out the Arrival and Departure Card, which can be obtained from airline staff. The required documents include your passport, inbound flight ticket, outbound flight ticket, and the Arrival and Departure Card. If you are flying with China Southern Airlines and have a layover of more than 6 hours but less than 30 hours, you may be eligible for a complimentary hotel stay provided by the airline, which can simplify your stay. One area that could use improvement is the duty-free shopping experience. While the shops offer a wide range of products, it was disappointing to find that many staff members had very limited English skills. This language barrier can make it difficult for international travelers to ask questions or make purchases, which is something the airport management should consider addressing. In summary, while Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is an impressive and modern facility, it is essential to plan for potential delays and long transit times. With proper preparation, the experience can be manageable, though not without its challenges.

Standard International Airport of Guangzhou, it is called Baiyun. All the basic facilities are good. Maintained well. However, security checks and immigration queues could be improved with many counters operating.

BIG, modern, bright, and well laid out. Over 200 gates, this serves as the main airport for southern China, both domestic and international. All amenities are available, that you'd expect from a major airport. Customs services, car rental, hotel bookings, money exchange, mobile and internet services.Of course there's the obligatory duty free scams, and high priced food offerings, but hey, still way cheaper than any Western airport

Airport is clean and we'll organized. Easily acces to MRT and bus station just below the complex.

The airport is large, there are comfortable sofas where you can sleep if you have a long layover. There are also machines with free cold and hot water. Wi-Fi worked reliably, there were no problems with the connection. There are many shops and restaurants where you can have a snack.

One of the biggest airport hub in Southern China. The airport is big and well organized. The security is strict. Even though it is well known for infested with pick pockets, the crime rate is still low (according to the airport security statistics). There are restaurants and shops in the airport. You can enjoy local food before leaving the country at the terminal hall. The hall is large and architecture is beautiful. If you want me to rate the airports in China, Baiyun ranks one of the top three airports.

The airport is clean, very nice. The immigration queue may looks very long but its actually quite fast. Just make sure already filled the arrival card. The sign system clear enough so you won't get lost.

July 2024 4*Terminal 1 (Departure)Travelling back to home from Guangzhou and Terminal 1 is nice and fast. It was not busy and security process was quick but too much screening. They want to take out all battery bank, chargers and cables. Most of the shops were closeted or winding up. It seems the terminal will changed soon. Currently there is no Duty free except one small shop.

Large airport, clean toilet. Very strict security. Make sure you go to the airport early cause it takes time to reach your gate since this airport is huge. I landed in terminal 2 via Southern China Airline and transfer to domestic Terminal 2.So many high end branded brand available in terminal that you can shops. There is one halal restaurant in Terminal international departure near duty free shop, ferragamo and coach boutique. Lanzhou Beef Noodle restaurant. Really life saver in here when you can eat halal meal.

Humongous, very grand but underneath all that engineering is chaos. Took about 2 hours to get a temporary visa and you get sent around in circles it just isn't clear. You then spend a large amount of time walking from pillar to post.Other than that, it's a grand airport, plan ahead of time and the WiFi access is also a nightmare in itself.Other than that, it's good.

This airport is the bustling hub of international transactions in China🇨🇳. It is a sight to behold with scores of passengers from all over the world, waiting to embark on their journeys to destinations like South Korea🇰🇷, Australia🇦🇺, and beyond. While most of the planes that land here are Chinese🇨🇳, it is a melting pot of cultures, sights, and sounds. The airport is massive, and it can be overwhelming to navigate at first. It feels like a labyrinth with so much space and countless gateways. However, there is no need to worry as there are instruction signs everywhere, pointing the way to different areas of the airport.➡️↙️⬇️↗️⬆️⬅️↔️↕️↖️The airport offers a range of amenities to make your travel experience more comfortable. There are numerous lounges, free hot or cold water stations, and free Wi-Fi. The food options are extensive, with both national and international cuisine available. The coffee☕️ and cookies🍪 are particularly noteworthy, and they are a must-try.The staff at the airport are well-versed in English, which is a blessing for international travelers. However, there is one minor inconvenience to note. If you are carrying a power bank, it may cause a delay at the check-in point.

The facility is clean. The transfer proceeding is fast. There are some shops, coffee cafes and restaurants than you can enjoy before departure, therefore you don't seem to feel borimg.

The airport is beautiful. But needs more shops, especially duty-free electronics of China origin. Prices are average. Air-conditioning is not working properly.

Very large and modern clean airport. All areas are well identified. IO are very friendly and professional. Comfort rooms are well maintained. There's also a free stretch film wrapping inside the airport. Free wifi inside just ask the information desk for the password.

This is a review of the Shenzhen Airlines’ King lounge in Baiyun International Airport. But before that, I wish to share a hack for the security checks. Although this is the hub of China Southern Airline, all Star Alliance Gold members have a special lane for security check at Row 19. Especially useful if you are in a rush for time.Back to the King Lounge, it’s rather small and choice of food and drinks are predominantly Chinese, as expected, since clientele are likely to be locals. For their hot food section, you place your order with the server and get a buzzer. When it goes off, go collect your order.A nice thing about this lounge is they have a whole glass wall for you to view the take offs and landings. If you are into that.Toilets ensuite but no showers available.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is a modern marvel that seamlessly blends functionality with aesthetics. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a sleek and contemporary structure that exudes efficiency and sophistication. The airport's design is not only visually stunning but also practical, making it easier for travelers to navigate through its facilities. One standout feature of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is its focus on technology. The airport is well-equipped with facilities that cater to the needs of modern travelers who rely heavily on electronic devices. There are plenty of charging stations scattered throughout the terminals, allowing passengers to easily power up their smartphones, laptops, and other gadgets. Additionally, the airport offers free Wi-Fi access, making it convenient for travelers to stay connected while on the go.

The fried egg UFO is deep fried. Noodles is skillfully yummy 😋😁. Though there is nothing else to browse around but at least the food that are serve hot.

It's a huge airport but looks so empty. Maybe I'm comparing it to other big airports with all activities in them like 30min flight away Hongkong airport. Maybe this airport is built for future and millions more visitors, or maybe it was the time of day we got there and the time we left (both in the evening) but regardless. Airport is clean and easy to get around, the most difficult time we had was when got there for first time, finding how to do the self documentation on provided screens with only one person slightly able to communicate in English with bunch of foreigner arriving at the same time. We figured it out and the rest was very easy, people were very friendly and try to help. I'm sure the second time will be much easier. There were plenty of taxis to take. One note, most people don't like to take foreign money (yes even US dollars), so make sure you have enough Yuan to use during your trip.
